Terms of Use

The service

Shadewise analyzes a selfie to estimate your skin tone, undertone, eye and hair color, and your skin’s finish, then recommends a 30-day skincare program and skincare products from a catalog based on your profile and budget. Shadewise gives cosmetic advice only and does not replace a dermatologist.

Results are estimates: lighting, camera or filters can skew them. You can adjust them anytime, and we recommend always confirming a shade with a tester before buying.

Cosmetic advice only

Shadewise provides no medical or dermatological advice and does not diagnose any skin condition. For any question about your skin health, a reaction or an allergy, see a health professional. Always check a product's ingredient list before use.

Products and prices

Shadewise does not sell any product. Products mentioned belong to their respective brands, with no partnership or endorsement from them. Prices shown are indicative and may differ from retailer prices. The "Find it online" button opens an external web search.

Your account

• You must be at least 16 years old.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential.
• You can delete your account anytime in the app (Profile → Delete my account).

Premium subscription

• Premium is offered as a weekly or yearly subscription. The exact price is shown in the app before purchase, in your currency.
• The yearly subscription may include a 3-day free trial. If you don't cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged.
• Payment is charged to your Apple account at confirmation of purchase (or at the end of the trial).
• The subscription renews automatically for the same period and price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Manage and cancel your subscription in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your account does not cancel it.
• Refund requests are handled by Apple under its terms (reportaproblem.apple.com).

Acceptable use

You agree to analyze only photos of yourself, or of someone who has consented, and not to bypass the service's limits or disrupt its operation.

Intellectual property

The app, its design, texts and recommendation engine are protected. You receive a personal, non-commercial right to use them.

Liability

We do our best to keep Shadewise working properly but cannot guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for purchases made based on a recommendation, nor for the products themselves. Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
